With my canvas ordered of Lucas from our strawberry picking adventure...I was also inspired to make a gallery wall. It's still a work in progress, but here's where we are at...

Life with a Toddler: LBO Updates
My updating throughout the school year went down hill....but here's to hoping for a summer of updates that turns into a school year of updates...
Our little "boogie" as we call him has grown so much. At his 18 month check up, he was in the 90% for weight and 10% for height, ha. Currently following in his momma's footsteps, but I have faith he will sprout up like Daddy one day. On June 21st, he turned 19 months old...oh time is moving so quickly. He is a great little boy. I wanted to type baby, but really he's not much of a baby anymore. So many people comment on his overall demeanor, and I don't think they believe us when we tell them, yes, he's like this most of the time. He's happy, has a good spirit, is flexible, and loves being around other kids. He has started to withdraw and cling to momma when he's in a strange place or around people he doesn't know. He doesn't make a huge scene and get upset, but he'll just stay a little closer at times. In the last couple of months this began, along with being sad when momma and daddy leave, or when I drop him off with Ms. Debby, but we are trying to be strong and just say goodbye knowing that's best for him. Usually his tears and cries only last a few minutes, if that, out of sight, out of mind. We are so proud of him and all he's accomplishing.
His vocabulary is flourishing. Although, he currently loves the words truck, puppy, and NOPE. I'm not sure where he got nope from, but we are working hard to change it to No thank you, No ma'am, No sir. He has started holding our hands at meal times to pray, and he'll end with an Amen as well. He is full blast when he's awake, and is all boy. But in the same sense, he is so sweet, loving, and well behaved. He is picking up on anything and everything from words to actions to expressions, so watch out!
Lucas LOVES LOVES LOVES Paw Patrol, too. The boys at Debby's love Paw Patrol, and now Lucas does, too.
Sadly, Lucas has also been struck with a couple of viruses over the last 2 months, both resulting with a rash, which has caused us to get some meds. However, he seems to be on the mend and doing better.

Lucas is also really into reading now, which of course, this momma loves. His new favorite book we bought at the beach is called Your Baby's First Word will be Dada. He likes to read it and say Dada, plus the animal sounds.
Sadly, Lucas has also been struck with a couple of viruses over the last 2 months, both resulting with a rash, which has caused us to get some meds. However, he seems to be on the mend and doing better.
Also, Lucas stayed his first weekend away at Maw & Poppie's house, while momma and daddy went away for our 5th anniversary! This upcoming weekend he'll being staying with Gigi & Pop while mommy gets her wisdom teeth out, not as exciting, but they'll be able to take better care of Lucas than I, in my state. It was hard to mommy to say good bye, but I think anticipation of the event kills me more than doing it. But while on our trip, I did a good job, I didn't get sad or cry. We talked to him each day, and it was a long weekend, so it was hard, but it was a lot of fun to get away! And his Maw and Poppie, had a TON of fun. It's been a week since he's been home and I think they've asked at least 4 times when can he come back?! So needless to say, they had a great time.
Lucas liked Poppie's Corvette

Saying bye to Maw

Walk a little slower Daddy
This warmed my heart.
On Father's Day we spent time with the Steedley clan, and sadly had to go to a visitation for family friend Lola, she will be missed.
Before dinner with Daddy
Proud of Daddy's gift

Our 5th Anniversary
We spent a long weekend away for our 5th Anniversary. We had many firsts on this trip. It was our first weekend away since Lucas was born, since last year for Amy's wedding. We had fun in Charlotte and Pawley's Island.
I got my first blue box.
We went to Pawley's Island for the first time.
We celebrated our anniversary night at Ruth's Chris, our first visit.
We took our first, but NOT last, trip to Ikea.
We went to PIT (Pawley's Island Tavern, hard to find, but oh so quaint and delish diner) and commemorated our trip by adding our own dollar to their wall and decor).
