Our Home Adventures

Since we moved into our house, we've worked really hard to make it our home. In the first weekend of closing on the house, we had the WHOLE thing painted, Friday & Saturday...with the help of some awesome friends & family, that was actually accomplished! (My husband was very DRIVEN to do it)! Only the kitchen and guest bath were painted, every other room was flat white paint! We wanted to change it before moving in! Here are some before, in the process, and after pictures!

Here are some outdoor changes/additions. We didn't build the fence, we were blessed to have someone else come build it. However, we did do the yardwork, 1 week after moving in...before and after pictures are below. I think after this, yardwork and painting are my 2 LEAST favorite house chores, even more than folding laundry and emptying the dishwasher!
Fence up!

Grill....yum...not much work here--until we started cooking...by we, I mean, my husband!

We worked so hard in the first few weeks of moving in to do almost everything....so we got a little lazy after that.  But back to it, and finished (with as much as we can do---that money will allow-haha)

More updates as they happen!!!

July 4th: Oliver Tradition Adventures

Happy 4th of July!! I hope everyone had a great one!!! As each year since I met Andrew, his family throws a big shin-dig for the 4th!! The family goes to his grandma's house, who lives on the lake (yahoo)!! Unfortunately this year quite a few people weren't able to make it :-/ but we still had a great time. It's a lot of fun to spend time with them. We started the day by eating some great homecooked BBQ and ribs!!! And then my sister in law and I went out on the lake, floating ...needless to say, even with my attempts to prevent it and layers of sunscreen, I still came out a little crispy.

And one of my favorite things we do at his grandma's house, we played Mexican Train Dominoes on the screened in porch. If you haven't played, like I hadn't until I visited them, but it is one of my favorites!!! Andrew's mom, sister, grandma, and I played quite a few rounds off and on throughout the day. During this time Andrew was fishing and helping everyone fix their technology problems, as always.

We ended the night with some fireworks off the dock and long trip home, need less to say, we were blasting music and Andrew was drinking Mountain Dew to stay awake until we arrived back home :) All in all, it was a fun 4th with great family!! Hope everyone else enjoyed their 4th!!

And by the way, no pictures, completely had so much fun I forgot!
